Our Team

First discussed in 1979, a group of people wanted to start an Independence Day celebration focusing on family and community.  The first Summerfest was initially held at the Methodist Church, with food, games, and other fun events.

From 1980 on, Summerfest moved out onto Main Street due to the overwhelming interest of many non-profit organizations.  This was the year Summerfest was incorporated and became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit entity.

We are currently a venue for local, non-profit groups to raise funds for their ongoing activities.  We also host a parade, vendor booths, bands, and other various rides/activities!  The event has evolved over time into an area attraction that draws roughly 10,000 to 13,000 people.

Help maintain Summerfest's roots by joining us each year to celebrate, keeping us all grounded in what is truly important -- our freedom, families, friends and community.
